NEM 3.0 SCHEME
Under NEM 3.0 at California
Every 4 kwh exported to the grid
= 1 kwh credit when you import from grid.
However, most families under NEM 3.0 still pay SDGE A LOT , with inappropriate configuration.
Here’s Why:
Most Residential solar system can barely produce 60 kwh per day, which won’t be able to cover 120 kwh for you. Therefore, the above number(120kwh) will keep accumulating in every cloudy/rainy day, and anytime a peak consumption happens.
This is the reason that most of families without proper configuration and consideration under NEM 3.0 are still paying grid a lot every year.

My solar system has been connected to SDGE for 3 months, and I still have a positive balance on my account (positive means I still own SDGE money).
This article clearly explains the reason. Thank you!
