Solar Systems Are Harder to Break Than You Think

Panels, inverters, and batteries are usually very stable when a system is designed and installed correctly.

SYSTEMMYTH-BUSTING

Many people assume home solar is fragile. In reality, the core hardware is usually very stable: panels, inverters, and batteries do not fail nearly as often as people are led to believe.

Think about the contrast with everyday appliances. TVs and refrigerators often come with short warranties, yet solar equipment regularly carries five-year, ten-year, or even twenty-five-year manufacturer coverage.

Some sales teams intentionally exaggerate maintenance risk so they can push premium pricing, oversized brand premiums, or paid extended warranties. The truth is much simpler: compliant hardware is usually reliable, and fear is often just part of the sales script.
