Never Sign a Solar Contract with Only a One-Year Installation Warranty

A one-year workmanship warranty is often functionally the same as saying the installer does not want responsibility for long-term problems.

Roof penetration issues, waterproofing mistakes, and connection details often do not fail immediately. They may take two or three years to show up.

That is why five-year or ten-year workmanship expectations are far more meaningful. In California, even interconnection requirements often assume a stronger warranty standard.

A one-year installation warranty should be treated as a major warning sign. Short coverage can hide poor quality and transfer future cost back to the homeowner.
